Homeless Can Vote

Please all Brentwood, Santa Monica, West LA and any other areas with large homeless community, read and let's join forces.

Homeless people CAN vote. We need to reach homeless people on the streets and talk to local associations to help us convince them to vote for BARACK.

Read this article (scroll down a bit and look for this title:homeless people can vote too

Anyone willing to help me out to contact associations who fight homelessness, please send me a message as I do need help!

Thanks so much. January 22nd is the deadline to register and we need to move quick!

This post from West LA Mom's is something that anyone can do where ever they live. Homeless people are citizens, many, many veterans of war among them. I did not even consider voting living on the streets sans address. If you provide services for homeless remember how hard it is to do anything while living without shelter and make it easy for homeless to vote. Many veterans of the Iraqi war feel they were duped into going. They are supporting Barack Obama. Me too.

You liberals are absolute pond scum. Glad to see that you think that bribing homeless people is the way to win an election.

What's the plan? Give them a 40 oz after they vote B Hussein Obama? How about a pack of cigs?

Disgusting and pathetic, but that's what the Demoncrat party has become.

I'm a liberal and I do think this is questionable. How well do you think the homeless keep abreast of the news and politics?? Would you want them deciding your future?

Unless they are telling them how to vote- which is unethical- how could these people make an informed decision??

I work with homeless people every day, doing outreach, listening to their stories, and connecting them to services they need. I have to say that I was very disturbed reading the previous posted comments.

I would like to inform those who read this that:

1. Homeless people can read and watch debates and discuss politics just as well as any of the rest of us can. Just because they are homeless does not mean that they do not have the ability to make an informed decision. (and for those of you thinking that homeless people don't have tvs to watch debates, many shelters, libraries, and public places such as restaurants have tvs that they can access).

2. Homeless people are not drunks. Many of the people I work with never even drink. I am disturbed by the ignorance of a person who would assume that you could "buy off" a homeless person's vote with substances.

And for those of you who doubt what I say...before you go spouting off discriminatory comments...take the time to stop and talk to a few homeless people. They are people too!

This comment makes me just laugh and laugh. I have met many people who are homeless who much more informed about the state of the world and it's politics than non homeless folks.

People without a home are Americans too.

You miss some of the point. Homeless people are Americans and should vote. It's a question of whether they would have even bothered to vote on their own. Were they really interested in voting?

This was written in the above blog:
"We need to reach homeless people on the streets and talk to local associations to help us convince them to vote for BARACK."

Coming from Ohio, this bears some consideration to make sure this was not coercion. Also, Ohio's early absentee voting laws are raising a controversial issue: homeless voters are without id or social security numbers, potential for fraud.

Where people approached who have been following the campaign and had decided how they wanted to vote or were people uninterested in voting and were convinced to vote Barack?
