It has been a while since I read about Washington, D. C.'s homeless. News reporters estimated one and a half million people were in D.C. for President Obama's inauguration. When ever there is an upcoming event in Long Beach, there is usually a round-up of homeless people who get picked up for unpaid warrants, spending time in jail until the event is over. I imagine D.C. has shelters for homeless people, due to it being much colder than Long Beach. Would be interesting to know if homeless people in D.C. got to enjoy the festivities along with homed citizens.
