Hitler on lies

Beautiful day, noon +30 and here I am still on the Internet. I want to return, "Inside the Mind of Casey Anthony: A Psychological Portrait." by Keith Ablow, M.D. to the library today.

I left a comment at Goodreads, about the novel, "Hope:: A Tragedy" regarding another comment about Hitler. Author, Shalom Auslander wrote that Hitler was an optimist. The comment said that was, well, insane. I had never thought about that. In context of novel it made sense. Basically if one is going to embark on a project or goal, they need to be optimistic. Pessimists don't start wars. Think Auslander wrote those words also.

If you think you can, you will, if you think you can not, you will not even try to win, accomplish, to whatever. Meaning Hitler was optimistic. Perhaps arrogantly so. The Anthony book mentions Hitler several times. I have read similar quotes to this one attributed to the man:

"The size of the lie is a definite factor in causing it to believed, for the vast masses...are din the depths of their hearts more easily deceived than they are consciously and intentionally bad. The primitive simplicity of their minds renders them a more easy prey to a big lie than a small one, for they themselves often tell little lies but
would be ashamed to tell a big one."

Just this morning I got one of those group e-mails proclaiming all the lies told by President Obama. It was laughable. I also got an e-mail reminding former classmates that they are not to use the group e-mails to forward unwanted political e-mails. The guy caused an uproar sending us all that trash previously, prompting the request to respect members of our high school class group e-mail list.

It was laughable because it claims that Barack is not part African, but part Arab. Huh? As far as I know Kenya is in Africa, not in the Middle East. Properly, he could be labeled by those who like labels, Irish/Kenyan/American. There was more ~ I did not scroll far on the list, garbage is all. Lies fed people like the former gullible classmate. Not that I do not fit Hitler's description, I have swallowed some whoppers on a personal level. As to politics, the Internet makes it easier to verify truths, find facts, weed out outrageous lies ~ fabrications made to create e-mails to discredit, and manipulate the people
