 My commenting on Yahoo news articles had to end. I did okay for a while, staying logged out of Yahoo, just copying and pasting comments here, to reply.Yesterday I signed out of my account, coped and pasted a few comments here. Tried to read a paperback book while using leg massager, but print too small. I wonder if I should bother finishing it. I remember liking The Great Gatsby all those years ago, but so far wondering why. Someone gave me the copy. I have 4 books on Kindle that I will start reading later today.

I did watch two Prime movie videos yesterday. 

I had hope that at least one person would read one of my comments and say, "ya know, she is right, I never thought about it that way." My old expression: here comes that tsunami wave we all be running. Ha, I guess that should now be: here comes a mob looking to kill and hang, all Congress and staff be running and hiding. But as soon as mob threat is gone, we will immediately start spinning "peaceful protest," "antifa," "like tourists, walked in and walked out," nonsense. 

Every political article will have the same MAWA posting the same stuff: TDS, rent free in your head, lying liberal MSM, what about BLM, Antifa, Hillary, Obama, Joe, some other senator whose name escapes me who fudged his Vietnam war service. (One vet read me the riot act when I said something that that senator's lie was nothing compared to George Santos. I should have copied it. Said I was a Jane Fonda, X%^&*  Too late I thought I should have replied: Nah, just a grumpy old lady.) 

They have large cut/paste comments telling how great things were under Trump. I have my own cut/paste info I gathered, for things. Like when they talk about Massive election fraud, I counter with names of convicted minor election fraud. I am a bit biased; I lead with the guy who voted as his missing wife (I wonder why  she was missing,) because he wanted Trump to win. Followed by a Democrat, then a string of GOP voters, some elected officials. I end with Tina Peters and Richard Patton for balance.

Both sides with infantile, often sexually vulgar, name calling, "your mother's basement," kool aid, sheep, typos or indicators of low intelligence. A number will talk about "this forum." It is article comments, not a forum. Some (MAWAS usually) will demand proof of an opinion. Others demand links to prove the claims. Well Yahoo does not allow posting of links (though I have seen some) but I just fact check claims (and 97% of the MAWAS claims turn out to be false.)

It is an education I tell you. I have a few books on my 'to read' list suggested by peeps in comments. I did not know about that senator whose name escapes me or Biden's "plagiarism." I did not even know who Senator Jamie Raskin was and other senators mentioned in comments. Nor the senator whose name also escapes me that brought her dog to Congress. 

Yahoo Comments

 After going to my Yahoo e-mail to open links to pay Electric and Cable bills, deleting most of the other unread mail, I signed out. I have lost interest in my last Facebook game. Needing to sit for a while when I first wake up, I started reading articles Yahoo shares. I used to only check out Google News. I used to spend a lot of time on forums, and had several websites and blogs that did not earn me a penny, which is likely how I started playing FB games. 

One day I just had to log in to Yahoo to reply to an ugly comment. Then it became my new addiction. I miss going for walks, smoking, doing community jigsaw puzzles, being able to afford newspapers, doing their crossword puzzles (online crossword puzzles too easy due to hints) and have gotten rather lazy when it comes to doing housework. I used to cook and bake a lot more, also. Painful trigger fingers, makes me shy away from doing stuff requiring a lot of chopping or stirring. Plus hard to cook for one when used to cooking for 4 or 5 or 40.

My new routine was to go to Yahoo news after a short trip to Farmtown, Google News and doing Wordie puzzle. It would suddenly be 2 o'clock and I was still sitting glued to computer. Yikes, Mar, you did not shower, lunch overdue, yesterday's dishes still in sink, if you don't put a move on that body I will be forced to give you a ticket. I should really turn on some music and hit the "dance floor."  What a colossal waste of time. 

My mantle cell lymphoma could come back at any time. A race between that and perhaps a fatal heart attack. What am I thinking? I have to clean out my junk, not sit at computer all day long. Somedays I would get up to do the dishes, shower, then jump right back to an article I was reading comments on.

What is the point? No one is going to convince a gaga MAWA that Trump is the worst president of all time. The MAGA' s are never going to convince anyone that Q/T social propaganda and alternate facts are truth. War on Drugs started long before Joe Biden became president. Under Trump it was heroin being smuggled across the border. Under Bidn it is fentanyl. Blaming an administration for addiction problems is wrong. Prohibition against alcohol did not stop drinking.

Yahoo held everyone of my comments for approval. MAWAs out in full force making ugly, rude comments about President Biden and our V.P.

I can not mention "give us your tired, your hungry, your poor." One comment I questioned if there are no Christian churches in Texas.Then I tried Christian houses of worship. Yahoo tells me they hold comments for approval; do not take it personally.

Well damn it, I do take it personally. They can say any nasty ole thing they want about Biden, and others who comment, yet I am not allowed to say most anything. I felt like posting a cuss laden post, starting with Duck You Yahoo. It is too sad, that the ugliest comments were getting 131+ likes. 

The clairvoyant effectively indoctrinated masses of citizens. So much false info, misspelled words, slurs, personal attacks. 

I was enjoying doing a jigsaw puzzle when an overwhelming urge to smoke came upon me. I guess back before COVID when smoking was a daily habit, when I got stuck doing puzzles, I would go outside and have a smoke. Years earlier, when I lived in places where I could smoke indoors, I would light up, to help me think while writing. 

I read a how to quit smoking book and it claims that a cigarette does not actually help us to think better. Nor does it calm us down. I do not know. I think breathing in and out while smoking is as relaxing as meditative breathing. 

"We are a Christian nation," barf. Maybe no MAWAs are Christians, but GOP sure favors them over secular citizens. 

Serving Two Masters

 Surprisingly I do not recall the day I simply stopped going to church. I studied some world religions. I never found one to satisfy me. Then I did what Jesus said, threw away my Bibles. "You can not serve two masters, love the one and hate the other." I liked the illusion of electing government officials.

I did not actually serve the one and hate the other.  It was freeing, no longer trying to come to terms with a Santa, pagan traditions Xmas and a birth of Jesus one. I chose the American Holiday. Even "serving" that did not thrill me. Materialism.

Children with poor parents did not get treated with equality by Santa. Their wealthy classmate got the Flexible Flyer and they got new mittens and knit cap. It teaches kids greed. It does not actually teach them to be good for goodness sake, anymore that the Bible gets adults to be good.

It teaches them they will get a momentary reward for being good, not a lesson that being kinds, is, well good.

I read long ago about Jesus maybe not being white. Makes sense to me unless the holy spirit was an ET with white skin. St. Nicholas was not white either. Some posted on the article that as children they asked why Jesus looked white and not Arab. I was clueless as to world geography in relation to Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Red Sea=Moses parted it.

I wonder if that is like now, Mississippi river drying up, river bed dry, so peeps an walk to an island, that used to have to boat to. Maybe there was a severe drought, the sea dried up and parted and legend had it that Moses did it in one day.

My big turn off was this: why send me to hell for eternity because I smoked? No longer being Catholic, I could not confess other sins to be a priest, do penance, and be forgiven, still getting my shot at heaven.

 Trying not to reply to Yahoo comments. Was doing better, then Facebook took Farm Town down again, and nothing to do, all day to do it. I suppose I could do some housework or continuing cleaning out my FB history. OY, I cleaned out my Blogger blogs, only to come back again. And again. 

So, anyway, I went away from the black/white Jesus article. Showered, cooked squash, ate squash while looking for the comment I wanted to share. Took me back in time.

My Story

I wondered why I was attracted to long shaggy dark haired hippie guys with mustaches and beards.  They did not look like my father, older brothers, or even uncles. Aha moment.

I used to stare at the mural painted on ceiling, wall over the altar every Sunday. Every holy day of Obligation, Every 7 day Novena. Well, not that would have been walking around the church stopping at stained glass windows to pray the rosary. Every Catholic funeral.

I loved Jesus! I wanted to marry him, ie: become a nun when I grew up. 

That idea went out the window when I started reading the Bible, finding descriptions from what I was taught and what the catechism the nuns tested us on, & priests taught.

When a sister and later brother asked me to be Godmother for their new baby girl and baby boy, I wanted to say no. I was still going to church, but I no longer believed. I felt a hypocrite, because I was too timid to say no. 

I did, however, know that should the sis die, I would be sure the daughter was raised Catholic. The brother's wife did not want me, but he insisted. Those babies long grown up and I no longer give them birthday/Christmas $$$ gifts as my godparents had given me.

Comments on article, predictable. Why do people bother? Non-Christians will not be convinced Jesus existed; Christians long "you will go to hell" comments. Middle Eastern people were dark skinned: not they were not, they were WHITE. Mary was born in Palestine. No the was not.

I had to keep stopping to fact check. I learned Mary was born in Herodian Kingdom of Judea. Um, where was that? Oh, could be Israel, Jordan, Jerusalem, Palestine. Turkey? I wonder. Countries along the Red Sea? 

Mary was 13. Was not. Where does it say that. The Bible. (No, her age is not mentioned in the Bible.) Raped. Pediophile. Life expectancy was 49; common for girls to marry at 12.

Really proud

 My sister hates Michelle Obama, because she said "this is the first time I am really proud of my country."

Never mind that she was misquoted and her words were taken out of content. I told sister she was proud that youth were engaged in the process. She did not say she was never proud, just that this time she was really proud. Kind of hard to be proud of a country that enslaved your ancestors. Hard to be proud of a country that allowed lynching of black/brown children and men. Hard to be proud of a country that allowed Jim Crow laws in the south.

Hard to be proud of a country that jailed women force feeding them, or allowed husbands to lock up wives in insane asylums. 

I was really happy with citizens of the U.S. who voted for a man not based on color of his skin, but based on content of his character. I would not say I was not happy with the country; it is all I know. I stopped saying the pledge of allegiance years ago. My allegiance belonged to god, not country. Even though I no longer worship a god, I did not go back to pledging allegiance. 

I could not pledge allegiance to a government lead by a Nazi, or a dictator like Putin. After the glorious day when people of all skin colors, elected President Obama, they went back to voting for a man of low character. What happened?

The Light We Carry

 The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times is Michelle Obama's newest book. Talk about rude comments.  I forgot to mention comments on Facebook posts. Michelle gets a lot, mostly positive.  Lately she posts about empowering girls. 

One guy (I assume it is a guy, could not tell by the name) posted several times asking why not empower boys, boys need to be empowered, and so on. Another said they should be empowered to make him a sammich. I believe he meant sandwich. People like those two, are the reason girls need encouragement. 

Girls are discriminated against in many countries. They are forced to marry older men at young ages. They are not allowed to get an education; if they do go to school, they do not last more than two years. Woman are forced to comply with men's mandated dress code. 

Even in the United States, some religious sects adhere to Old Testament dictates. Female heads need to be covered, they are to be subservient to husbands. It was many, many years after 1776 men declared all men are created equal, that women were given the right to vote.

Silly me; when I first learned about U.S. history in elementary school, I thought "men" meant "human beings." I did not feel inferior to males. That came later. 

When men (and some females) stand outside, and break into the Capitol Building wanting to find and kill an 80-year-old woman; when the Supreme Court decides states have a right to deny liberty to citizens based on gender, you know little girls need to be empowered.

I Am Woman, sang Helen Reddy, watch me grow, see me standing toe to toe, yet, a million did not march in 2022. And way too many women are gaga over Trump and agree with denying women equal rights. It appears the anti women are more powerful than empowered. 

Perhaps Michelle Obama will help more little girls to aspire to be president some day.  There needs to be more strong women in Congress, and less MTGs, Sarah Palins and others like them.

You Talk Too Much

 You Talk Too Much is an old song by Joe Jones. I used to dedicate it to my now ex husband. We were to go on a double date with a co-worker. He asked if my husband talked. I said, "you can not get a word in edgewise."

After reading a headline: Will Trump Sink Herschel Walker, I am again reminded: they talk too much. They endlessly talk about coming elections; during elections; after elections. You know what theysay, if you don't have anything to say, never say it outloud.

We do talk too much, myself included. Article comments become a political forum. Can not call them debates. Insults, rude comments, distorted truth, whataboutism, deflection. Some will mention the number of Dislikes or comments by another poster.  That comment is aimed at a person gaga over Don the Con, or "baby killer" types. 

A recent article about the mass shooting in a nightclub being called "gay club." Maybe lesbians are considered gay? Trans, bi? Because, it seems the club is a mixed crowd, not just homosexual males. I digress.  

It did not take long for those commenting to turn it into a political debate: "people in PA voted for a vegetable", Joe Biden, DJT, Hunter Biden, Hillary Clinton, evil "baby killers." A few did offer sympathy for the deceased's loved ones. I am surprised they did not call the former First Lady, Michael. 

My mother always told me, to keep your words, tender and sweet, for tomorrow you may have to eat them. She did not, really. I have not yet credited my father for saying: keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool; open it and remove all doubt. 

Parents do use quotes, such as my mother saying "thou dost protest too much." My father was fond of saying: "fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice shame on you".

My latest is to reply to a rude, crude comment: "why you are pointing fingers, someone else is judging you," name that tune.

He is, after all, elegant, even though he does not like the U.S. of A. very much he wants to leave his nice life and get elected to the highest office in the country? 

What person belittles his country and calls himself a patriot. I know, I know (yikes, now I am starting to talk like him) because only the great and all powerful Oz can fix things. Not the Dr. Oz. A little humility would be a great asset. 

Talk about an outsized ego = Grandiose Narcissistic personality disorder.

 I should mention "Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large" added his comments after each of T's recorded lines from his speech.

BTW, I wonder if he paid for his airtime campaign ad? Is it normal for TV stations to interrupt regularly scheduled programs to run candidate announcements. I had CNN on while I was reading and doing a puzzle. I wanted to see State names listed on banner running below the talking heads. I would glance up and it seemed the banner was only showing a few States. When a map showed up, I did get one of the names of a State I was seeking. 

Suddenly I hear him, look up, see his face, and made haste to leave CNN for some Lifetime movie background noise. FOX was the other channel that covered his announcement on live TV. If Pence or DeSantis throw their hats into the ring, will they also air their announcements?

He likes to watch horror films, but does not remember name of movie he watched "Last night." Werewolves kill vampires, is an important Lawmaker issue, now, eh.
